As we are moving forward with our transition to PowerSchool, I wanted to make clear to everyone that there is a team of individuals who are supporting our efforts and who will be communicating with you on procedures and updates.  The PowerSchool team includes:

Jim Schultz
sets directions for PowerSchool, having reviewed recommendations from the Implementation Committee

John Capano
liaison with BOCES support personnel
resource for PowerSchool instruction manuals/directions
elementary use contact (Andy Haluska as the co-chair of the Implementation Committee is another elementary contact)
information on implementation timelines that have been established through the Implementation Committee working with NERIC

high school use contact
general information on status of PowerSchool operations
guidance liaison

As we proceed with our Shared Decision Making Implementation Committee, we will follow our practice of the committee making recommendations to me which I will accept, modify or reject with explanation.  Nancy Pearse and Andy Haluska are the co-chairs of that committee. In addition this support team will continue to adjust PowerSchool and send communications to those impacted.

In an attempt to clarify communication vehicles, for the time being please use the TIMS site for technical questions that you might have if you are a teacher.

You will continue to receive updates from the person assigned as  your building use contact as well as communication from your representative on the Implementation Committee. The Implementation Committee is currently discussing other vehicles for sharing  ideas about PowerSchool such as a blog or use of Google.docs or a conference on First Class. If you have other ideas please share them with an Implementation Committee  member as we will discuss this at our next meeting.
